How to post a remote control request in the Slingbox Enhancement Request Forum

Can't find your manufacturer's remote control in our available device list? Read below for information on how to request that your device's remote be added to our database of remotes.
When you use SlingPlayer on any mobile device or over the web, one of the coolest features is the remote control – it looks just like your remote at home, so it makes controlling your device easy and intuitive. We have thousands of remotes available in our database, and when you first set up your Slingbox, the guided Setup Assistant should help you find yours.

If you can't find your specific remote – we want to hear from you! Having your input and feedback means that we can add those less common (or sometimes brand new) devices to our database.

How to post a remote control request:

To find the Remote Controls Requests forum, look on the right side of the Slingbox Forums home page. You will find a link under the Have A Great Idea For Us? section. Select Remote Controls Requests.

If you cannot find your video source in the Slingbox Setup Assistant, let us know here. We will do our best to get the most requested video sources added to our remote control database.

Here's how it works:

  • First, search in the Remote Controls Requests community to see if anyone else has already requested support for your device.
  • If you find your device, vote for it by clicking the vote arrows! This is the best way to expedite the addition of your remote.
  • If you can't find it, click the Create an Idea link (in the right column under Actions) and tell us about the device your would like to control with your Slingbox.

Tip: Be sure to read the Announcement notice entitled "Read Me Before Posting Your Remote" for more useful details.

If you do post, please include the following information in your post:

  • Set top box manufacturer
  • Set top box model
  • Service provider (if any)

Keep in mind that we can not fulfill every remote request we receive. We review all submissions, research and prioritize the most popular/common remotes first. There are 1000's of video sources available, and we try hard to provide a custom remote for as many Slingbox users as we can.

In the meantime, we recommend that you try a generic universal remote, as this option provides basic functionality to most devices.

How we announce new remotes:

We make an announcement when we add a new batch of remotes. You can view these new remotes in the What's New section on the right side of the Forums page.

In the meantime, we recommend that you try a generic universal remote, as this option provides basic functionality to most devices.
